Carl F. Ware, Ph.D.

Carl F. Ware established his research laboratory in 1982 as Assistant Professor of Immunology in the Biomedical Sciences Program at UC Riverside, where he advanced to Professor. In 1996, he joined the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology as Head of the Division of Molecular Immunology. In 2010, Dr. Ware became Director of the Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases Center at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute (SBP), where he continues his research in Molecular Immunology and Virology. He also holds a joint appointment in the Department of Biology at UC San Diego. Dr. Ware is an inventor with licensed patents for the development of protein-based therapeutics currently in clinical trials. Dr. Ware serves on the Intellectual Property Advisory Committee at SBP and also advises several biotech and pharmaceutical companies on approaches to drug development.
