Postdoctoral Position – Davies Lab

San Diego Biomedical Research Institute (SDBRI) is a nonprofit scientific research organization located in the heart of the San Diego research community. The mission of SDBRI is to conduct fundamental biomedical research to better understand human disease, and to use this information to contribute to the treatment and prevention of diabetes, cancer, neurological disease, HIV infection and complications of chronic disease. The Principal Investigators at SDBRI are accomplished scientists who are well-known and recognized in their areas of expertise.

SDBRI has an opportunity immediately available for a Postdoctoral Fellow. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be a member of a small team of researchers in the laboratory of Dr. Joanna Davies. The main goals of the project are; 1) to identify immune biomarkers of disease progression in patients with type 1 diabetes; and 2) to identify the critical molecular and cellular pathways that lead to type 1 diabetes onset and progression.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. and at least two years of relevant Postdoctoral experience. Candidates must also possess a strong theoretical and practical knowledge of cellular and molecular immunology (preferably human and mouse) and type 1 diabetes research. Prior experience with Flow Cytometry, RNAseq, molecular biology, and sterile tissue culture technique would be a benefit.
