Cecilia Marcondes, Ph.D. Comes to SDBRI as Associate Professor

Maria Cecilia G. Marcondes, Ph.D. joined the institute as Associate Professor. She received her Ph.D. in Immunology from the Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil. Most recently, she was Assistant Professor of Molecular and Integrative Neurosciences at The Scripps Research Institute, Department of Neurosciences. She studies the impact of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus in the Central Nervous System, and how factors such as drug abuse and aging interfere with the neuro-immune environment during the infection.
